Brenner tumour of the ovary. Gross specimen of the walls of an ovary showing a Brenner tumour (upper centre). This rare benign (non-cancerous) tumour arises from the surface epithelial cells of the ovary. Although they are usually asymptomatic, Brenner tumours are often surgically removed because very occasionally they become malignant (cancerous).
