The news is being transmitted to ships in international Morse code, using a short-wave radio transmitter. The news has been screened and passed by the naval censor, as indicated by the stamp marks. This photograph is part of an Office of War Information collection taken by US photographer Marjory Collins (1912-1985), documenting life on the home front in the USA during World War II (1939-1945).
