Caption

Timelapse footage of a gravity wave interacting with a cloud bank. A sky full of altocumulus undulates as waves propagate through the inversion layer containing the clouds. The inversion is an elevated frontal surface nudged up against the Front Range in Colorado. A gravity wave appears to erode away the edge of the receding cloud bank. Filmed in Colorado, USA, in autumn.
