Seborrheic keratosis, also known as seborrheic verruca, or senile wart) is a benign (non-cancerous) skin growth that originates in keratinocyte skin cells. They can resemble warts but have no viral origins. No treatment of seborrheic keratoses is necessary, but if a growth becomes excessively itchy or is irritated by clothing or jewelry, it can be removed.
