Wollastonite, coloured scanning electron micrograph (SEM). Wollastonite is a white to greyish-white calcium-silicate mineral (CaSiO3). It is used commercially to enhance strength and increase durability in a range of construction materials including concrete, stucco, patching compounds and adhesives. It also provides added dimensional stability, sag resistance, and resistance to cracking from drying and freeze thaw effects. Magnification: x6300, when printed 10 centimetres wide.
