Digital food thermometer. This is used to test the internal temperature of foods, ensuring that they have been cooked and are safe to eat. The probe is put inside the thickest part of the item being cooked, the desired temperature is set on the right side and the actual temperature is shown on the left. This thermometer is set to 85C, the temperature to which fresh or frozen poultry must be heated to be safe to eat, while the ambient temperature is 19C. The thin connecting wire means the probe can remain inside the food being cooked in an oven while the display is outside. An alarm sounds when the correct temperature is reached.
