Caption

Animation showing effector T cells (rounded grey cells) leaving the lymph node (green area) through an efferent lymph vessel. These effector T cells were produced during the proliferation stage of a T cell which has been activated by a dendritic antigen-presenting cell (smaller grey cell with spiky projections). These cells will then be drained through the lymphatic system before entering the bloodstream via the thoracic duct.
