Caption

Endoscopy footage shown on-screen during a knee arthroscopy. The arthroscope (endoscope used inside joints) is connected to a video monitor enabling the surgeon to examine internal structures of the knee joint and to guide surgical instruments which are inserted through small incisions (keyhole surgery). The video pans across to show the external view of the procedure; the arthroscope and a second surgical instrument have been inserted into the patient's knee allowing the surgeon to repair the joint.
