Arenavirus. Arenaviruses cause several types of viral haemorrhagic fever (New World fevers). The viruses are transmitted to humans by rodents and bats. Image produced using high-dynamic-range imaging (HDRI) from an image taken with transmission electron microscopy. Viral diameter ranges from around 110 to 130 nm.
