Southwestern earless lizard, Holbrookia texana scitula. Male. A subspecies of Texas earless lizard, H. t. texana, but body coloration browner than that of tail and hind legs. The pinkish-orange anterior sides is also distinctive. Abundant from Big Bend to se AZ and n. Mexico. Photo Big Bend National Park, Brewster Co., TX.
