Transmission electron micrograph of the liver cells of a California Slender Salamander (Batrachoseps attenuatus). This is an example of protein crystals in amphibian liver. In this micrograph, the occurrence of thin tabular crystals in cisternae of granular endoplasmic reticulum is evident at the lower right of the figure.
