A molecular model of arginine, an amino acid synthesized in the body as well as found in various foods such as dairy, meat, wheat, oat and nuts. Arginine is involved in cell division to help speed up the healing process to repair damaged tissue, and is also the precursor of the vasodilator nitric oxide. Atoms are coloured dark grey (carbon), light grey (hydrogen), red (oxygen) and blue (nitrogen).
