Explorer Robert Scott's famous Terra Nova Hut of 1911. Scott's Antarctic boots hang over his bed at Terra Nova Hut, Cape Evans, Antarctica. February 23, 2009. The Terra Nova hut embodies the courage, perseverance, bravery and commitment of Captain Scott's expedition. Robert Falcon Scott and his doomed expedition members set out from for their fatal last attempt at reaching the south pole. The house was insulated with fine seaweed. The kitchen is still stocked with Edwardian provisions.
