Here is an exterior image also showing the rusted sleds and wooden man-pulled sledges used by Scott and his team before they perished after departing this hut. Cape Evan, Antarctic Explorer Robert Scott's famous Terra Nova Hut of 1911. February 23,2009. The Terra Nova hut embodies the courage, perseverance, bravery and commitment of Captain Scott's expedition. Robert Falcon Scott and his doomed expedition members set out from this the 1911 Terra Nova Hut at Cape Evans, Antarctica for their fatal last attempt at reaching the south pole. The house was insulated with fine seaweed. The kitchen is still stocked with Edwardian provisions.
