Hoodia gordonii in flower. Hoodia gordonii is a leafless spiny succulent plant with medicinal properties. It grows naturally in South Africa and Namibia. The flowers smell like rotten meat and are pollinated mainly by flies. Photographed near Robertson, Western Cape, South Africa.
