Repairing dam equipment. Workers performing repairs to a turbine at the Sayano-Shushenskaya hydroelectric dam in Russia. On 17th August 2009 the No.2 turbine suffered vibrations that led to its failure. Several bolts of its cover were missing and many more had fatigue cracks, so the cover failed and the generator hall was flooded with high-pressure water. Some 40 tonnes of lubricant oil were also released into the Yenisei River. Sayano-Shushenskaya is the largest power generation site in Russia and the sixth largest hydro power station in the World. Photographed in 2012.
