Craniotomy brain surgery. Surgeons applying clamps to the head of a patient about to undergo a craniotomy as part of brain surgery. This involves peeling back the scalp and removing part of the skull to allow access to the brain. This is done for patients with brain lesions or injuries, and is also done to allow implants to be placed in the brain.
