Col. Despard, Edward Marcus Despard (1751-1803). Irish conspirator. Portrait. He was accused of being involved in a conspiracy to assassinate the King, and to seize the Tower of London and Bank of England. With six others he was drawn on a hurdle, hanged and beheaded.
