Glass invalid feeder from nineteenth century, England. These were used in this era to assist with feeding the infirm; liquid or semi-soft food (usually breadcrumbs, flour, rice or barley mixed with liquids such as broth, milk or water) would be placed in the pot and the spout would be placed in the patient's mouth. This dates from around 1850, England.
