Mammoth autopsy. Palaeontologists studying the body of Yuka, a preserved baby mammoth (Mammuthus primigenius). Yuka was discovered in Yakutsk, Siberia, having died around 10,000 years ago and been preserved in the permafrost of the region. Photographed in Yakutsk, Sakha Republic, Russia, during a seminar by the Yakutian Academy of Sciences.
