Circular zodiacal lunar scheme, Whole folio Circular zodiacal lunar scheme, with rotary disk and pointer, representing the Sun. This device was used for locating the position of the Moon in the zodiac, to find propitious dates for blood-letting. At the four corners, the patron saints of the Guild; St John, St John the Baptist, St Cosmas, and St Damian Image taken from Guild Book of the Barber Surgeons. Originally published in England York; 1486, with additions to 1768.
