View of Duinrel, To the most noble and illustrious C. de Jonge van Elkmeet, Lord of Elleemeet, Receiver General of the Federated Netherlands is dedicated this general view of his house called Duinrel (1707). Huntsmen are shown approaching the entrance to the estate of Duinrel, just to the north of the Hague. They were heading for the woods lining the house, which had been reclaimed from the sandy ground near the dunes. The oval and star-shaped rides that had been cut through them can be clearly seen. Illustrated by Pieter Scheck.
