Fay Ajzenberg-Selove (1926-2012, nee Ajzenberg), German-US physicist. Born in Berlin, Germany, to a Russian Jewish family, she was educated in France and then New York, studying at Michigan and Wisconsin, receiving her doctorate in 1952. She carried out experimental research on the nuclear spectroscopy of light elements, and is best known for her 26 annual compilations 'Energy Levels of Light Nuclei'. She married physicist Walter Selove in 1955. Her publications include 'A Matter of Choices: Memoirs of a Female Physicist' (1994). She was awarded a National Medal of Science in 2007.
