Millipede, coloured scanning electron micrograph (SEM). Millipedes (class: Diplopoda) have elongated bodies with some species having hundreds of legs, arranged in two pairs of legs on each body segment. They are slow-moving herbivores, feeding mainly on dead and decaying plant matter. Magnification: x20 when printed at 10 centimetres across.
