Keratoacanthoma on a 77 year old male patient's nose. A keratoacanthoma is a benign growth on the skin. Although harmless, the nodule is often removed as it is unsightly. A keratoacanthoma generally grows to around two centimetres in diameter over a few weeks before slowly disappearing. The cause is unknown, but may be related to exposure to sunlight.
