Natural History Museum's Diplodocus. Artwork of the presentation made on 12 May 1905 of a Diplodocus skeleton to the Natural History Museum, London, UK. The 26-metre-long exhibit was a replica of a fossil held at the Carnegie Museum, USA. Lord Avebury (Natural History Museum trustee, lower right) gave a speech in front of the assembled guests. Others present included Andrew Carnegie (lower left, standing) who donated the replica, the Natural History Museum's director E. Ray Lankester (bottom left), and William Holland (bottom right), Carnegie Museum director.
