Lung bronchiole. Fluorescence deconvolution micrograph of a section through lung tissue, showing a region from a bronchiole to a terminal duct. Terminal bronchioles appear in the lungs in the regions where alveoli (air sacs) start to appear. Cellular proteins are highlighted with fluorescent markers: smooth muscle actin (red), f-actin (green), and cell nuclei (blue). Magnification: x200 when printed at 10 centimetres across.
