Caption

Brain tumour. 3D diffusion tensor imaging (DTI) MRI scan of a brain showing the presence of a large brain tumour (red). An axial black and white 2D MRI scan helps shows the position of the nerve pathways within the brain. The coloured lines are nerve pathways surrounding the tumour. They have been imaged using DTI, a technique that maps nerve pathways by looking at the direction of water diffusion in brain tissue. During the clip, the brain is rotated and the focal point of the highlighted nerve pathways (cuboid marker) is adjusted to show different pathways.
