Light micrograph of a section through a foxglove (Digitalis purpurea) flower, showing the ovary (centre), which is split in half (2-celled) and contains two triangular placentas bearing the ovules. The fruit is a septicidal capsule, which splits open so that the seeds can be dispersed by the wind. Magnification: x5, when printed 10 centimetres wide.
