At upper left, descending from the spine to the hip bones, are the psoas major muscle (broad) and the psoas minor muscle (narrower). To the left of the psoas major, attached to the iliac crest, is the iliacus muscle. At lower left, from left to right, the muscles are: the tensor fascia latae, the sartorius muscle, and the adductor muscles of the hip.
