Polarised light micrograph of crystals of sodium sulphate (Na2SO4). Also known as Glauber's salt. Industrially, sodium sulphate is used in wood pulp production, glass, detergent and chemical manu- facture. Medicinally it may be used as a mild laxative drug. Magnification: x25 at 6x7cm size.
