Black sea cucumber (Holothuria atra). This animal lives in shallow waters (10-20 metres) and is omnivorous. Its colour may be conspicuous but it is often covered in sand, which may help it to blend in with its surroundings. When threatened, this species of sea cucumber will emit a toxic red fluid. Photographed in Egypt, Red Sea.
