Meteorological charts. Europe. Some show variation with compass direction (N=North, E=East, O=West, S=South). The chart at centre shows changes from 6 in the morning to 10 in the evening. The charts at bottom show changes over a year (left) and over a 24-hour day (right). At bottom left and right are seasonal changes (H=winter, P=spring, E=summer, A=autumn). Charts from 'Cours complete de meteorologie' (1843) by German physicist and meteorologist Ludwig Friedrich Kaemtz (1801-1867).
