Kepler-186f. Artwork of the Earth-sized planet Kepler-186f. This is the first Earth-sized planet to be found in another star's habitable zone, a region around a star where the surface temperature of a planet is suitable for liquid water. The planet, which is ten per cent larger than Earth, is found in the Kepler-186 system, approximately 500 light years from Earth in the constellation Cygnus. It's composition and mass are not known, but it is thought to be a rocky planet. The system's four inner planets are also seen orbiting their host star.
