Eastern bearded dragon (Pogona barbata), 18th-century artwork. This 1790s description is of a specimen found in New South Wales, Australia. The names given here are: 'Jew Lizard' and 'Bid de wang'. Thought to be by Thomas Watling, this is drawing 362 from the Watling Collection, which dates from the period 1788 to around 1797. The paintings were made in the area around what is now Sydney, Australia. The collection is held at the Natural History Museum, London, UK.
