Cirrus cloud. Plumes of cirrus cloud in the sky. Depending on their shape, these clouds are also known as 'Mare's Tails' or 'Stringers'. Cirrus is a high-altitude (6, 000- 12, 000 metres height) ice crystal cloud which forms delicate filaments or fibres. This cloud- type is usually associated with fair weather.
