Illustration of endometriosis (the presence of endometrial tissue outside the uterine cavity). It can take the shape of small nodules (on the fallopian tubes), of lesions (on the uterus lining or on the ovaries), of a cyst (above the ovaries), of whitish adhesions linking the ovary and fallopian tube, or a mix of adhesions and nodules between the uterus and colon (on the right of the illustration at the cervix). This pathology leads mainly to problems of pain and infertility.
