On either side, the spinal nerve, followed by the gland and two roots : the dorsal root at the back (the sensory root) and the ventral root at the front (the motor root). At the top the marrow reveals a pink part, the white matter and a brown part, the grey matter, which consists of two dorsal branches and two ventral branches. The arrows indicate different severings of the nerve : -The severing of the spinal nerve leads to a loss of feeling and a loss of motor functions in the corresponding innervated zone.
