Shoulder tendon injury. Labelled artwork of an anterior (frontal) view of a severe and chronic injury to the shoulder tendons forming part of the rotator cuff. This is a full-thickness global tear of the supraspinatus tendon and the subscapularis tendon, both of which attach muscles to the head of the humerus (upper arm bone). The tears have exposed the head of the humerus and the injury has also resulted in diminished space between two bones in the shoulder joint, the acromion and the head of the humerus (humeral head).
