Liver haemangioma, gross specimen. A liver haemangioma is a benign (non cancerous) tumour that forms in the liver as a cluster of tangled blood vessels (dark red, left) and connective tissue. It does not cause any symptoms and cannot develop into a malignant (cancerous) tumour. In rare cases, haemangiomas may rupture and interfere with organ function.
