Section through a liver haemangioma, light micrograph. A liver haemangioma is a benign (non-cancerous) tumour that forms in the liver as a cluster of tangled blood vessels (dark red) and connective tissue (beige). It does not cause any symptoms and cannot develop into a malignant (cancerous) tumour. In rare cases, a haemangioma may rupture and interfere with organ function.
