Nurse holds out a box of Prolia. Prolia contains denosumab, a human monoclonal antibody used to treat osteoporosis in women after menopause. After menopause there is a drop in the levels of oestrogen, which helps maintain bone mass. This drug inhibits bone removal and is used to prevent the bones becoming brittle and liable to fracture, as they do is osteoporosis.
