Night-time shot of construction underway at the site of the destroyed World Trade Center, New York, USA, in 2006. On 11th September 2001, terrorists flew two hijacked passenger planes into the Twin Towers of the World Trade Center. Both buildings collapsed around an hour later. Thousands of people are believed to have been killed. Today, the One World Trade Center, also known as the Freedom Tower, stands on the site, as well as a museum and memorial to those who died.
