Mosquito larvae (Culicidae) at the water surface. The aquatic larvae feed by wafting food particles into their mouth using beating hairs to create a current. They breathe through the hollow tubes at their posterior, which open at the surface. This clip is part of a sequence showing the life stages and emergence of a mosquito. See clips K004 2936-2923.
