Bladder cancer. Axial computed tomography (CT) scan of the pelvis of a patient with bladder cancer (dark spots, bottom centre). This is a malignant (cancerous) tumour that has arisen from the epithelium of the bladder lining. In most cases, the first symptom is blood in the urine (haematuria). Treatment is by surgical removal of the bladder and chemotherapy.
