Bone tumour. Coloured magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) scan of the knee of a patient with a non-ossifying fibroma (mass at upper centre left) of the femur, or thigh bone. This is a benign (non-cancerous) bone tumour that is made of soft, fibrous tissue. A non-ossifying fibroma is usually symptomless, and no treatment is required as it often resolves on its own. It is the most common benign bone tumour in children.
