Oedema (swelling) of the hand, characteristic of Kawasaki disease. This is a rare condition that mainly affects children under five. The blood vessels become inflamed leading to fever and generalised oedema. Litlle is known about the condition, but complications include heart disease and aneurysm (weakened arteries). Aspirin has shown some efficacy as treatment.
