Caption

Skin rash caused by ariboflavinosis. This is a vitamin B2 (riboflavin) deficiency disease. It is most often seen in cases of alcoholism and malnutrition. Vitamin B2 can be found in milk, meat, eggs, nuts and green vegetables. It is an essential nutrient required for immune system function, maintaining healthy hair and skin, and slowing aging. This deficiency can be treated by increasing daily intake of vitamin B2. In extreme cases, vitamin B2 may have to be supplemented by intravenous injection.
