Caption

Secondary liver cancer. Light micrograph of a section through liver tissue showing cells from a secondary (metastatic) liver cancer. Secondary cancers (metastases) spread from a primary cancer elsewhere in the body. This cancer spread from a lung cancer. The liver is the largest gland in the body. Its many vital roles include metabolising nutrients and detoxifying the blood. The prognosis for secondary liver cancer is poor.
