Secondary cancer of the liver. Clinical specimen of a liver showing a secondary cancer (metastasis, white) that has spread from a primary cancer elsewhere in the body. This cancer spread from an adenocarcinoma of the prostate gland. The liver is the largest gland in the body. Its many vital roles include metabolising nutrients and detoxifying the blood. The prognosis for secondary liver cancer is poor.
